Goatrock Guitars Tomahawk Vintage Flame Burst with Duesenberg Les Trem II Offset
Up for sale is a Goatrock Guitars Tomahawk model.
The Tomahawk is a semi-hollow, flat top, offset model with a center block. This is not a hollowed out block of wood. The sides are bent to shape and the top and back are thin like an acoustic. It's a resonant instrument, which means it sounds nice even before you plug it in. You're not going to be able to use it like an acoustic, but it's great for noodling around on the coach.
When plugged in, it has a warm, clear sound. In the neck position you can go from warm jazz tones to screaming solos. The bridge position can produce nice clean, well rounded tones but can be pushed to give you well defined rock tones as well.
The top and back are both made of high grade flame maple and are finished with a vintage burst and topped with a satin finish. Top and back also have an ivory binding and the sides, which are made of mahogany are finished black.
As if that weren't enough, this particular one is sporting a Duesenberg Les Trem II with an accompanying TonePros Roller bridge. The tremolo is great for smooth, Bigsby type vibrato but is also capable of allowing you to do some moderate dive bombing. It also holds its tuning very well with moderate vibrato usage. If you decide you don't want a tremolo, you can replace it with most standard stop tails (not included) with relative ease.
To round it off, it comes with a custom molded SKB iSeries case. No need to remove the tremolo. Just swing the arm back and put the guitar in.
